Spotlight on Service: Did you know that each Sunday Church Service at FPC takes an average of 28 individual acts of service? We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the 52 individuals who served FPC during a Sunday Service or special event in February. If you would like to join our team of volunteers, please email deacons@friendshiptaipei.com.

Youth Group Weekly Gatherings - Fridays, 6:30-9:30pm: Our Youth Ministry has begun gathering on Friday evenings for a month-long trial period. We hope to provide a time of worship, Bible study, fellowship, and fun. We will meet every Friday through the month of March, 6:30-9:30pm, at 261 Roosevelt Road, 6th floor.

Monthly Prayer Group - March 12th, 7:45-9:00pm: FPC’s monthly prayer group, “The Engine Room,” meets regularly on the second Tuesday of each month. Accordingly, the March meeting will be held Tuesday, March 12th. Come join us for an evening of Kingdom-centered prayer. We gather at 7:30pm on the 4th floor of the church building and go into prayer from 7:45 to 9:00. All are welcome.

• Newcomer Welcome Lunch - March 17th, 1:15-2:45pm: If you are new to FPC in the last two months, come join us for food and fellowship in Room 402 of the church building. It is a time to meet others who are new to the church and helps us get you connected to the life of the church. You can register at the Newcomer Welcome table in the fellowship hall, or simply meet us in Room 402 on the 17th at 1:15pm.

• Fit Kids Club Games Night - March 30th, 5:00-8:00pm: Exciting adventures in games-night fun awaits! Join us for another fun evening with Jackie Z. and the team. We will be meeting in the basement Sunday School rooms at the church. All Sunday School class ages are welcome, and you are encouraged to bring along a friend! Email Jackie for more details (fpcfitkids@gmail.com).

• Church Membership Class, March 30th & 31st: “Introduction & Membership” is designed to introduce you to the vision, values, beliefs, and practices of FPC. This course will benefit everyone and is required for those seeking membership. We will meet in Room 501 of the church building, March 30th, from 9:30am to 1:00pm and breakfast will be provided. A follow-up meeting to finish the course will be held on Sunday, March 31st, from 1:00 to 2:00pm in Room 402 of the church building. Bring your own lunch (to enjoy with us at the church picnic afterwards!). Sign up for the class at the Newcomer Welcome table in the fellowship hall.

• Church Picnic - Sunday, March 31st: Grab a lunch and come join us for an all-church picnic. After our service on Sunday, March 31st, we will be gathering together at the Triangle Park at 1:00pm before heading over to Tai Da Lake to enjoy fellowship together.

During the past few weeks, the Sunday messages have been focusing on our hearts being the real source of sin and not necessarily our outward actions (outward actions can be sinful, but they are not the source). Jesus' words from Matthew 5 are powerful and convicting, and we are moved to rethink our lives a bit on Sundays. But what happens on Mondays, or perhaps even Sunday evening?

It is very easy for us to forget what the sermon on Sunday was about, and even though we may have had a wonderful time with the Lord in the few hours we spend together as a church, we may end up going back to our own lives with all our sinful heart issues coming back. How do we combat this?

One of the greatest ways that I have found to combat my heart issues is through accountability. Accountability is a practice that Christian brothers and sisters can participate in out of love and concern for one another to grow in the Lord. It is a time when we ask one another difficult (and sometimes easy) questions in order to continue to point each other to Christ. I believe that such accountability is absolutely necessary. Here is the question: do we practice accountability in our church?

Many times, looking for someone to keep you accountable is a difficult endeavor in itself. So, starting this month, a couple of our community groups will be implementing a new systematic form of accountability so that you will not need to find someone by yourself. A systematic form of accountability will not answer all of our questions or deal with all of our issues. But it definitely is a starting place to begin real growth in the Lord. I encourage you, if you desire to grow in the Lord, to seek accountability, and perhaps join one of our community groups.
